Fibre optic market dynamism driven by territories and companies generates significant needs in workforce which simplifies the professional insertion of competent people. By providing fibre, rack and cabling roll-out trainings, the Digital Plumbers’ schools act as a relay between the employers’ desire to find staff and the young people trained. Once they have completed their apprenticeship, they have the necessary skills to begin working. For 70% of the young people, this works: they have found a job within three months following the training. Since the launch of the first school at the end of 2017, more than 200 people have been trained. Twelve training centers have now been opened in France and in the French overseas departments.

Telenco strongly encourages this project and wishes to be involved at its scale. That is why, in order to help and facilitate the training of these young people, the Group has participated in the production of eleven tutorial videos explaining various types of fibre optic handling. Telenco provided equipment and technical experts to explain the different processes. Moreover, Telenco offers measuring and welding supplies to furnish the different schools’ classrooms. Finally, the Group provides preferential rates for the purchase of aerial or FTTH connection equipment. A total of four schools have been equipped by Telenco, including the last one, located in Toulon, which was inaugurated in April 2019.

The company wishes to renew its commitment to the Digital Plumbers by participating in the development of additional platforms for the opening of two training centers in Nantes and Toulouse. Telenco is proud to participate once again in this initiative, which corresponds to the company’s values: solidarity, sharing and commitment. The two schools were inaugurated at the end of 2019.
